If you’ve been around CrossFit Indiana for any length of time, you know this already: we don’t believe fitness lives in a vacuum.
Training hard is important. Lifting well is important. Community is important. But longevity? Sustainability? Feeling good while you train, and outside the gym, that’s the real win.
That belief is exactly why I’m excited to officially share that Kevin Stapleton has joined CrossFit Indiana as our in-house physical therapist.
This is a big step forward for our community, and it’s something we’ve been intentionally working toward for a long time.

Why Bring Physical Therapy In-House?
Most people don’t start thinking about physical therapy until something hurts.
At CrossFit Indiana, we want to flip that script.
Our goal isn’t just to help you recover from injury, it’s to help you move better, train smarter, and stay in the gym long-term. Having an in-house PT allows us to:
- Address small issues before they become big ones
- Improve movement quality and efficiency
- Support training through different life seasons
- Reduce time lost to preventable injuries
- Create clearer communication between coaching and care
Instead of bouncing between a gym and a clinic across town, our members now have access to professional care right here, in the environment where they train.
Why Kevin?
Kevin isn’t just a physical therapist who “gets” CrossFit — he understands our culture, our members, and our standards.
“My goal is to help athletes move better, recover faster, and keep progressing — not just get out of pain.”
Kevin is a licensed physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning coach who specializes in working with active adults and athletes. As the founder of a recovery-focused and sports performance practice. and now a private contractor with CrossFit Indiana, he brings both clinical expertise and real-world training experience into the gym.
He brings:
- A strong background working with active adults and athletes
- Experience treating common CrossFit-related issues (shoulders, hips, low back, knees)
- A movement-first approach that complements how we coach
- Hands-on services like dry needling, cupping, and IASTM w
How This Fits Into Our Coaching Philosophy
Over the past few years, CrossFit Indiana has continued to evolve toward a more holistic coaching model.
We already focus on:
- Smart programming
- Scalable, individualized coaching
- Nutrition support through Healthy Steps Nutrition
- Goal setting and accountability
Adding in-house physical therapy completes the circle.
Coaches and PTs speaking the same language means:
- Better modifications when needed
- Clearer return-to-training plans
- Fewer mixed messages
- A shared goal: helping you feel capable and confident
This isn’t about replacing your doctor or forcing treatment.
It’s about access, education, and proactive care.
What Services Will Be Available?
Kevin will be offering physical therapy services directly out of CrossFit Indiana, including:
- Injury assessments
- Movement and mobility evaluations
- Rehab and return-to-training plans
- Dry needling, cupping and soft tissue work
- Education around pain, movement, and training load
We’ll also be hosting educational workshops throughout the year on topics like:
- Bulletproofing shoulders for overhead work
- Low back and hip health for squats and deadlifts
- Mobility vs. stability (and how to know what you need)
These workshops are designed to give you practical tools you can actually use — not just information overload.
What This Means for Our Members
Simply put: you’re supported.
Whether you’re:
- New to CrossFit
- Training for the Open
- Managing old injuries
- Balancing workouts with a busy job or family
- Focused on long-term health over PRs
This addition is about helping you keep showing up.
Training should build you up — not beat you down.
What’s Next?
Over the coming weeks, you’ll hear more about:
- How to schedule time with Kevin
- Upcoming workshops and clinics
- How PT and coaching will work together inside the gym
If you have questions, concerns, or just want to learn more, don’t hesitate to ask a coach or reach out directly.
We’re proud of the direction CrossFit Indiana is heading, and we’re excited to keep raising the standard of care for our community.
Welcome to the next level of training.
